United They Stand

"WS United" is our Sunday Soccer Division 1 champions after a 4-1 win last night in the championship game. Throughout the season "WS United" was thoroughly dominant, even as a newcomer to the league. They finished the season with a +16 point differential, double any other team this season.

The win capped off a nearly perfect season for "WS United" as they finished with a 6-0-2 record. The two draws came in back-to-back weeks against "Purple Drank FC" and "Kickballers V." After that "WS United" ran the table with four wins to close out the season, including their 4-1 win over second place "Liquorpool FC" to take the championship.

That final scoreline was a larger win than the previous game between the two just a few weeks ago. In that game "WS United" did still win, but only by a slim 2-1 margin. This time our eventual champions didn't underestimate their opponents, leading to a better game from them from start to finish.

Congrats to "WS United" for a great, nearly undefeated season!

Black On Top

"Black Together Again" is our Sunday Soccer Division 2 champion after winning a thrilling championship game. That game, which was against #2 "Shut Up and Score", ended up going to penalties before it ultimately decided.

After regulation was over the score was deadlocked at two apiece and we headed to penalty kicks. In penalties "Black Together Again" was about to score three times while "Shut Up and Score" was only able to score once. With that, they became our champions.

Earlier this season both of these met, and the game was similarly close with "Black Together Again" winning 2-1. We should have known the championship game would be just as close.

Our champions were oh, so close to a perfect season as well, if it weren't for a 6-6 draw to "Red Solo Cups" near the end of the season. For whatever reason the defense for "Black Together Again" decided to not show up, and in the end hurt their chances at an unblemished record. But we can't take credit away from "Red Solo Cups" either. They were in a number of high-scoring affairs, including a 9-8 win in week 1 against "Green Street Elite."

Anyway, congrats to "Black Together Again" for a great season, and we look forward to seeing what they can do in division 1 next season. Best of luck!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
