"Hard Pore Corn" has successfully defended their title in our Friday Cornhole League after a thrilling final match showcasing the top two teams throughout the season.
The night started off with our eventual champs, "Hard Pore Corn," getting the bye in the first round as the #2 overall seed. Their first game of the night came against "Schuck Me All Night Long" who they easily swept aside with a 3-0 win to secure their spot in the finals.
On the other side of the bracket the #1 seeded "Unprotected Sacks" also won their first game of the night after a bye by the score of 3-0. With both teams dominant to start the night, we were set for a great matchup between to heavyweights. Earlier in the season "Unprotected Sacks" had defeated "Hard Pore Corn" by the score of 3-1, but with much more on the line this time things turned out a bit differently.
The match came down to a final game and with things knotted at two apiece the intensity ramped up even more. Late into game five both teams were cancelling each other out and even when points were had, it was only one at a time. However, eventually "Hard Pore Corn" pulled away in the fifth and final game to take the ultimate prize!
Congrats to "Hard Pore Corn" on a thrilling season. More impressively, this signals back-to-back championships for them, and we look forward to seeing them try to defend their title once again in the upcoming Spring league. Will they get that three-peat, or will they finally be dethroned? Fate is in their hands.
