  Out of Towners

The Out of Towners came in to play... and won it all!

Last night we wrapped up our late summer softball league, and four teams spent the night battling for glory, with hopes of a title on the line.

In the first game of the night, our eventual champions, the Out of Towners, took on Just the Tip, in a rematch of their week 8 game. Last week, Just the Tip left with a 3-1 victory, but tonight the Out of Towners had other ideas, pitching a shutout in a 5-0 win.

Our other semi-final game pitted the #2 and #3 teams head to head, with the higher seeded No Glove, No Love facing the #3 Slappin da Base-ball. Despite their lower seed, "Slappin" had emerged victorious a month ago during the regular season, with a 10-9 win. They seem to have No Glove, No Love's number, because they won again, 12-5, to setup a championship showdown with the #1 seeded Out of Towners.

In the regular season, the Out of Towners won this matchup 10-6, and they hoped for a similar result last night. With some key stretches and catches for outs, they withstood a three run homer from "Slappin da Base-ball" and hung on for a 6-5 win.

Congratulations to the Out of Towners on their title, and to all our teams on a fantastic season!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
