"Ryguy's Pop Flies" is our newest Monday Softball champion, dethroning perennial winner "Quit Your Pitching" in dominant fashion. The 11-1 championship game victory was quite the result given the fact that their opponent had won the league the last 6 seasons! In all "Ryguy's Pop Flies" finished with a 6-3 record, including a +24 point differential.
Despite the title, things didn't originally look so grand after a tough start to the season. "Ryguy's Pop Flies" would lose their first three games, starting out the season at 0-3 and already on the outside looking in.
It all turned around in game 4 though, when "Ryguy's Pop Flies" picked up a strong win over "Outside Bag". In total they'd rattle off five straight wins, enough to put them into the championship game. In that game "Ryguy's Pop Flies" stayed red hot, blowing "Quit Your Pitching" out of the water and taking the title of defending champion with force.
Congratulations to them on a successful season, especially after the turbulent start. They proved that in the end it's not how you start a season, but how you finish!
