Volleyball - Thursdays: Beginner at MSC (Winter '24)

"BOB" emerged as the triumphant Thursday Beginner Volleyball champions of the Winter '24 season, clinching victory over the formidable "Volley Girlz" with a decisive 2-0 win!

Entering the playoffs with just two losses and holding the #3 seed, "BOB" were cast as the underdogs. Their previous defeat at the hands of the #2 seed, "Bumpin Uglies," seemed to weigh heavily as "Bumpin Uglies" stormed ahead with four consecutive points at the outset, suggesting a continuation of their dominant form from the semifinals. However, the momentum swiftly shifted once "BOB" secured their first point. Demonstrating flawless bumping, setting, and spiking, "BOB" embarked on a relentless streak, seizing seven consecutive points to seize the lead, ultimately never relinquishing it. With a commanding performance, "BOB" clinched the first game with a score of 21-19, carrying their fiery momentum into the second game, which proved to be a more closely contested affair. Nonetheless, "BOB" maintained their dominance, securing a spot in the finals.

The finals pitted #3 seed "BOB" against the formidable #1 seed, "Volley Girlz." Despite "Volley Girlz" boasting just one loss and exuding confidence, "BOB" entered the match riding high on their recent hot streak. In a showcase of exceptional skill and power at the net from both teams, "BOB" proved too formidable to contain. As the second game commenced, "Volley Girlz" knew they needed a win to force a third game, yet "BOB" managed to outmaneuver them, triumphing with a commanding 21-11 victory to claim the championship title!
