The Monday kickball season at Roosevelt Park came to a thrilling end on June 30, with the top four teams battling it out for the title. In a night full of big plays and even bigger energy, it was #2 Pitches be Crazy who emerged as the new champions, taking down the top seed in a nail-biting final.
The semifinals opened with #1 Putazos O Que asserting their dominance over #4 Kickolas Cage, cruising to an 8–0 victory with sharp fielding and consistent offense. They looked every bit like the team to beat. Meanwhile, the second semifinal featured a high-scoring showdown between #2 Pitches be Crazy and #3 Got the Runs. Despite an early push from Got the Runs, Pitches be Crazy held their ground and pulled away late to secure a 10–5 win, punching their ticket to the finals.
In the championship matchup, fans were treated to a true battle between the league’s top two seeds. Putazos O Que, who had breezed through the regular season and semifinals, quickly found themselves in an unfamiliar position—playing from behind. Pitches be Crazy came out with confidence, stringing together timely kicks and capitalizing on defensive miscues. Putazos O Que stayed within striking distance and made a push late in the game, but Pitches held strong when it mattered most. With clutch defense and just enough offense to stay ahead, they held on for a 6–5 win and the league title.
Congrats to Pitches be Crazy, your Summer 2025 Monday Kickball Champions! 🎉🥇 Their grit, hustle, and team chemistry made the difference when the stakes were highest.
