Thursday night at Mather Sports Center brought all the intensity, chaos, and energy you’d hope for in a playoff bracket. The top four teams rolled in ready to battle it out, and from the first whistle, the gym felt like playoff night. In the opening semifinal, the 1st seed BeauJangles lived up to their ranking, shaking off early nerves before locking in and taking down the 4th seed Team C. Their consistency at the net and calm under pressure punched them the first ticket to the championship match. On the other court, the 2nd seed BOW faced a hungry and determined 3rd seed Team Work In Progress. After a scrappy back-and-forth start, Work In Progress found their rhythm and surged ahead, pulling off the upset and advancing to a well-earned spot in the finals.
That set the stage for a championship showdown between the 1st seed and the 3rd seed — and the finals did not disappoint. BeauJangles came into the match firing on all cylinders, jumping out to early leads in both sets with aggressive serving and clean ball control. Team Work In Progress answered with some huge digs and clutch rallies to keep the pressure tight, but BeauJangles’ momentum never wavered. They closed out the night with a confident two-game sweep, 21–14 and 21–17, securing the title in style.
Player of the Game honors went to Alex, whose big plays and steady presence helped anchor the championship performance. Huge congratulations to BeauJangles on a well-deserved and hard-fought title, and props to all four teams for bringing the energy and making Thursday night one of the most exciting evenings of beginner volleyball we’ve had at MSC this season.
