“Ballbarians” are the Downtown Kickball Champions of the Fall ‘23 Season, after defeating “Kickland Signatrure” 5-2!
It was a cool, crisp November night when the reigning champions, the “Ballbarians”, took on the “Kickland Signature” team. It was a tale of two teams, both shaking in their cleats — wondering if the rain was going to impact such a highly anticipated game.
As visitors, the “Ballbarians” got out to a 1-0 lead at the top of the first. But “Kickland Signature” battled back in the bottom of the first, to make it 1-2. Scoreless for the next 3 innings, due to Jaime’s inability to make it home before the ball got to the catcher, the “Ballbarians” knew they were up against the clock. Then… dramatic pause… the “Ballbarians” rallied back. As the rain fell from the sky, this champion team had a fire lit inside them — both keeping them warm, and helping them bounce back.
As the mild rain, as KCRA Chief Meteorologist Mark Finan would say, fell down… the “Ballbarians” became unstoppable. The score was tied… then it was 3-2… and then Jaime redeemed himself, hitting a 2-run RBI to bring the total up to 5-2.
They may be able to buy in bulk, but the bulk of the “Kickland Signature” team wasn’t able to compete with the rally the barbaric “Ballbarians” had created. Crowning them champions as the midtown and downtown leagues, back to back, with a combined undefeated record of 18-0.

“Red Ball Vodka’s” are the Midtown Kickball Champions of the Fall ‘23 Season, after defeating “Don’t Touch My Balls” 8-3!
"Red Ball Vodka’s" entered the playoffs with an undefeated record and planned to keep their undefeated streak after the Championship, but "Don’t Touch My Balls" did not make it easy for them. Both teams displayed their amazing offensive talent all season long, so everyone was expecting another high scoring game. “Red Ball Vodka’s” came out on fire and scored a few runs early in the championship but “Don’t Touch My Balls” came right back and scored a few runs of their own. It looked like the championship was going to live up to the offensive hype that we all expected, but “Red Ball Vodka’s” started to play amazing defense after the third inning and were able to hold “Don’t Touch My Balls” impressive offense to only 3 runs for the whole of the game. It was a hard fought battle but "Red Ball Vodka’s" came out on top and won 8-3 and finished the season undefeated!
