The Thursday Intermediate Volleyball season wrapped up with a thrilling playoff night at Mather Sports Center on July 24. The top four seeds clashed in a competitive bracket, and it was the undefeated #1 seed Midlife Sets who came out on top, capping off their perfect 10-0 season with a hard-fought championship win.
In the semifinals, Midlife Sets handled business against #4 Served Hot, sweeping them 2–0 in the opening match of the evening. Meanwhile, on the other side of the bracket, #3 B52s pulled off a tight upset over #2 My Kill is Karma, grinding out a 2–1 victory in a back-and-forth semifinal showdown.
The finals saw Midlife Sets square off against B52s in a three-set battle that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. B52s came out swinging, stealing the first set 21–19 and threatening to spoil Midlife Sets' undefeated run. But the top seed responded with resilience and poise, rallying to take the next two sets 21–19 and 21–16. Their consistency and composure under pressure proved to be the difference-maker, securing them the championship title and a flawless season.
Player of the Game honors went to Felix R of Midlife Sets, whose all-around performance helped propel his team to victory. Congratulations to all the teams for a great season and especially to Midlife Sets, your Thursday Intermediate Volleyball Champions!
