Cornhole - Tuesdays (Late Spring '17)

"Cornhooligans" won this spring's Tuesday night Cornhole league as they swept through all rounds of the playoffs to be crowned winner. "Cornhooligans" placed first during regular season play, winning 9 and only drawing 1 while playing their way to a whopping +28 point differential. "Corn Stars", their eventual opponents in the final, finished second, with a record of 6 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses.

Both teams swept through the early rounds, dominating their opponents with 3-0 sweeps in both games. The "Cornhooligans" played "The Great Cornholios", while the "Corn Stars" played "We So Corny". Both games were over relatively quickly, though "The Great Cornholios" and "We So Corny" put up valiant efforts, each losing one of the games by only 2 or 3 points.

In the finals, things started out extremely tense. Game 1 had everyone on the edge of their seats as both the "Cornhooligans" and the "Corn Stars" tied each other throw for throw. Starting the final throw, the score was 20-20. The "Cornhooligans" scored 3 bags on the board to the "Corn Stars" 1, resulting in a 22-20 win for the "Cornhooligans".

Game 2, while looking lopsided on paper, was actually fairly close as the "Cornhooligans" scored an insane amount of points in a single round. The game started very tight, and was 10-9 "Cornhooligans" when their player began to throw. He then went on to throw all 4 bags in the hole, resulting in a 12 point score, winning the round 22-9.

Game 3 was just as intense, as the "Corn Stars" knew they needed a comeback. It was not to be had, however, as the "Cornhooligans" stayed 3 or 4 points ahead the entirety of the game, and ended up finishing off the "Corn Stars" with a 21-17 victory, to win the match 3 games to 0.

Congratulations to the "Cornhooligans" for getting back to the top of the podium following last season's 2nd place finish.
