Volleyball - Wednesdays: Women's Intermediate at MSC (Late Spring '25)

The Wednesday Women’s Intermediate Volleyball league wrapped up in exciting fashion on July 2 at Mather Sports Center, with the top-seeded Trash Pandas living up to the hype and walking away with the championship trophy. All season long, they had been a force on the court, and they brought that same intensity into the playoffs, determined to finish what they started.

In the semifinals, the #1 Trash Pandas faced #4 Ruckus, a team known for their hustle and unpredictability. But the Pandas wasted no time establishing control, jumping out to early leads in both sets and never looking back. Their well-timed attacks and solid defense kept Ruckus on their heels, resulting in a clean 2-0 sweep. Meanwhile, the other semifinal saw an intense battle between #2 Big Dig Energy and #3 Hits. Hits came in hungry for redemption after a hard-fought regular season and delivered one of their strongest performances yet. They executed with confidence, moved the ball well, and pulled off a decisive 2-0 upset to secure their spot in the finals.

That set the stage for a high-stakes showdown between the powerhouse Trash Pandas and the underdog but surging Hits. Both teams came in fired up, and the crowd could feel the energy from the first serve. Hits brought their signature grit and fast pace, but the Trash Pandas matched every play and then some. With powerful kills, seamless teamwork, and some scrappy digs that kept rallies alive, the Pandas dictated the tempo and forced Hits into tough spots. While Hits had some great moments and refused to go down without a fight, the Trash Pandas’ consistency and control proved too much. They took both sets with ease, sealing the match and earning the title with poise and power.

Congratulations to the Trash Pandas, your 2025 Wednesday night Women’s Intermediate champions! 🏆👏 From start to finish, they showed what championship-level volleyball looks like—great teamwork, great execution, and most of all, great spirit.
