Cornhole - Wednesdays (Late Summer '15)

The atmosphere was electric, the tension palpable as our Late Summer Wednesday Cornhole playoffs took center stage. The leagues top 6 teams came ready to put their skills to the test in a winner take all single elimination playoff to determine league supremacy.

In the opening round the higher ranked teams showed their metal as both the #4 seed "Wines and Steins" and the #3 seed "TBaggers" swept their opponents in merciless fashion 3-0.

In our first semi-final, "Wines and Steins" took on an undermanned "Get Lyfted" team. "Get Lyfted" was represented by a solo member of the team, however Bri came to play and put forth a determined effort. Nevertheless, the consistency of "Wines and Steins" tosses carried the day as they conquered their opponent by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile in our second semi-final the rested #2 seed "Unprotected Saxs" came in fresh off a first round bye and jumped out of the gates quickly taking a sizable 2-0 lead over the "T-Baggers". The underdogs responded with a win in the third game, but their momentum was quickly stifled and "Unprotected Saxs" secured their spot in the final by a score of 3-1.

In our championship match, former champions "Wines and Steins" came out of the gates hot and set the tone capturing the first 2 games and sat on the edge of eternal glory needing just 1 more game to claim the title. That third game wouldn't come easy however as "Unprotected Saxs" dug deep for a surprisingly dominant win in the third game. "Wines and Steins" closed the door on any comeback hopes in the next game.
