Softball - Thursdays (Late Spring '23)

“Benchwarmers” are the Thursday Softball Champions of the Late Spring ‘23 season, after defeating “Ball of Duty” 6-4!

“Benchwarmers” entered the playoffs as the heavy favorite to win the championship. They were the #1 seed at the end of the season and it looked like no one would be able to stop them, but “Ball of Duty” was not going down without a fight. The “Benchwarmers” defeated “Ball of Duty” in their previous matchup during the regular season, so “Ball of Duty” was ready to exact their revenge. The game started out with the “Benchwarmers” scoring a couple runs in the first two innings, and not allowing “Ball of Duty” to get anything going offensively. The “Benchwarmers” have been impressive on the offensive end all season long, but it was their defense that gave them an edge in the championship. The “Benchwarmers” made a defensive switch in the 5th inning to help stop “Ball of Duty’s” speedy offense. “Ball of Duty” played their hearts out, but the “Benchwarmers” defensive changes in the final innings proved to be the difference in the end.

Congratulations to “Benchwarmers” on becoming the Thursday Softball Champions for the seventh season in row. Let's see if they can make it eight in a row next season!
