It all came down to the championship match between Straight Outta the Gutter and Just Missed, and what a night it was! Despite being short-handed with only three bowlers, Straight Outta the Gutter showed grit, teamwork, and serious consistency — battling through all three games and still managing to win the series 10–5, even while spotting their opponents a point every round for the missing fourth player.
Game 1 set the tone early. Dylan (166) came out hot, backed up by Brett (146) and Paul (136). Even though Just Missed fought hard behind Tom’s 136 and Amy’s 135, the Gutter crew took the early edge 3–2 thanks to steady scoring and some timely strikes.
In Game 2, the intensity ramped up. Brett bowled lights-out with a 207, while Paul (172) and Dylan (149) kept the momentum rolling. Just Missed put up solid numbers with Julian (168) and Dom (166), but the short-staffed trio still pulled off another 3–2 win — a huge statement that they weren’t backing down despite the handicap.
By Game 3, Straight Outta the Gutter had all the confidence. Brett stayed on fire with a 182, Paul stayed steady with 177, and Dylan closed strong with 148. Their consistency sealed a 4–1 finish in the final game, capping off an impressive night of focus and clutch play.
When the final scores were tallied, Straight Outta the Gutter stood on top, winning 10–5 overall — a huge feat considering they were effectively playing 3-on-4 all night. Their win proves that teamwork and determination can overcome any obstacle — even a missing bowler!
Congratulations to Straight Outta the Gutter, our Wednesday night bowling champions! And big props to Just Missed for a great season and a hard-fought final match.
