"Real Thirsty FC" is our Friday night soccer champion, finishing with a 9-1 record on the season. They were the top seed in Friday evening's playoffs, but that didn't mean it was going to be an easy road to the title.
Oddly enough the first match versus the #4 "ABCDE FC" was the tougher of their two wins, ending in a tight 4-3 victory. The two had recently played the week before, with "Real Thirsty FC" winning 2-1, so the familiarity between the two may have been one of the reasons why the game was close from start to finish.
On the other side of the playoff bracket #2 "The B-Team" mustered a 3-2 win over "White Dragons", a week after losing to them 6-1 in the league's final regular-season game. It was an incredible turn-around to be able to improve so drastically both offensively and defensively in just a week.
In the championship game the top two teams faced off, though one was much better than the other. "Real Thirsty FC" scored three times, and at the same time maintained their league best defense by shutting down "The B-Team" on the scoreboard. At the end of the game it was a 3-0 shutout for "Real Thirsty FC", and most importantly the championship. Congratulations on the win!
