"Lo's Team" is our Downtown division champion, making their way through the bracket as the #2 seed in the playoffs. They would knock off "Best suggestion wins" by the score of 5-1 before taking down the "One Kick Wonders" and their potent offense in a 9-2 final.
"Lo's Team" was one of this season's favorites to win it all, but that didn't mean it was all roses. Despite a strong 2-0 start they hit a rough patch, losing 3 out of their next 4 games, including twice to non-playoff opponents. But, they got their act together and finished the league strong, closing out with two more wins and securing the #2 seed.
Defense was a key factor in the championship run as well. In fact, despite finishing with a 7-3 record they allowed as many runs, 11, in their wins as they did in their loses. Basically, when they were on their game they were unstoppable.

"Heavy Petting Zoo" is our Midtown division champion, knocking off two tough opponents thanks to their superior defense.
As the 4th place team they had a tough first round opponent in"Airtight", but a decisive 9-3 win meant they were on their way to the final! In the other half of the bracket #2 "TWELVE INCH KICKS" took care of business, putting up double digits en route to a 10-5 win. With such high scores in the first round, we figured it would be an offensive battle for the championship.
That was far from the case though, and instead "Heavy Petting Zoo" blanked "TWELVE INCH KICKS" in a 3-0 nail-biter. The shutout was quite inpressive, given the fact that their opponent was one of the best offensive teams all season. Little did "TWELVE INCH KICKS" know that they were facing one of the best defenses all season. In fact, "Heavy Petting Zoo" had only allowed more than four runs just once all season. Also, the win was very similar to their previous meeting in the regular season, which was a 4-0 win for our champs.
