“Misfits” are the Thursday Volleyball Champions of the Spring ‘23 Season, after defeating “Plant the Spike” 2-1!
“Misfits” came into the playoffs as one of the favorites to take home the title, but they had to defeat a very formidable “Plant the Spike” team before they could be crowned the champions! The first set was a tight match with both teams exchanging points between good hits and great serves. However, “Misfits” was able to come together and force “Plant the Spike” to commit errors that allowed them to win the first set 21-13. “Misfits” continued their dominance into the second set with a significant point gap, but “Plant the Spike” was able to find their groove and came back to tie it up at 21-12 and force a tiebreaker 3rd set. All the momentum was on “Plant the Spike” side, which carried into the final set. “Plant the Spike” started the third set on fire but “Misfits” came right back and tied the game up. No one knew who was going to win the final set until “Misfits” performed bump, set and spike to perfection to take a commanding lead. “Plant the Spike” played their hearts out and kept the final game close all the way to the end, but “Misfits” were just too hot to handle. “Misfits” went on to win the third set 21-17 and became the champions of Thursday volleyball!
