“Nothing But Net” are the Monday Basketball Champions of the Fall ‘24 Season, after defeating “Chow Men” 2-0!
It was the playoffs for Monday basketball last night and it didn’t disappoint. “Nothing But Net” and “Chow Men” met in the championship and no one knew who was going to walk away as the champions of Monday Basketball. “Nothing But Net” came out on fire in the first game. They couldn’t miss a shot and they dominated on the defensive end. Their defense didn’t allow “Chow Men’s” offense to get anything going for most of the first game. With a few minutes left, “Chow Men’s” offense started to heat up but it was too late. “Nothing But Net” made two impressive shots back to back and won the first game 22-20.
“Nothing But Net” started game two with the same energy by playing smart basketball on the offensive end and suffocating their opponent with their defense. Their scoring ability was almost effortless and it was incredible to watch. However, “Chow Men” kept it close by playing great defense and not allowing “Nothing But Net” to score any points for a few minutes. “Nothing But Net” started to find a groove and score a few buckets back to back which gave them a little bit of a cushion, but “Chow Men” found a rhythm of their own at the midway point of the second game which kept it competitive until the end. Both teams played their hearts out and it looked like “Chow Men” was going to force a third and final game, but “Nothing But Net” had the championship in their sights and no one was going to stop them. “Nothing But Net” made one final shot that was set up by a fantastic screen to win the game 21-19!
