No Ifs, Ands, or Buts — Just Big Digs and Big Wins

The Sunday Intermediate season at Clarke Dominguez Gym brought plenty of action, rivalries, and rematches before it all came to a close on September 21st.

In the semifinals, top-seeded Big Dig Energy faced off against Ball Me Maybe. These two squads had already clashed twice in the regular season, with Big Dig Energy winning both matchups convincingly. The semifinal followed a similar script, as Big Dig Energy stayed in control to advance in straight sets, 3–0. On the other side of the bracket, Ball Control battled against Bloodline Baddies in a highly anticipated rematch. Ball Control had fallen 0–3 earlier in the season, but this time they flipped the script, grinding out a 2–1 victory to punch their ticket to the championship.

That set the stage for a final showdown between the #1 seed Big Dig Energy and #3 seed Ball Control. The two teams had already played a thriller in late July, where Big Dig Energy edged out a 2–1 victory. Once again, the final was tight from start to finish, but Big Dig Energy proved too steady, winning both sets by identical 21–17 scores to complete the sweep.

With the win, Big Dig Energy capped off their season in dominant fashion, finishing as your Sunday Intermediate Volleyball Champions!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
