The Fall Bocce League wrapped up in dramatic fashion on September 24 at Grant Park, and it was a night full of close battles and familiar rivalries.
The evening began with a quarterfinal match where Delta Breeze outlasted Hands Off My Bocce in a tight contest, pulling away late to secure a 15–11 victory. That set them up for a semifinal clash with top-seeded Bocceballics, who came out strong and never looked back, cruising to a 15–8 win and punching their ticket to the championship. On the other side of the bracket, Boccesaurus Rex and Barack Obocce went back and forth until the very last frame. With precision shooting under pressure, Boccesaurus Rex pulled off a nail-biting 15–13 win to earn their place in the finals.
That championship matchup between Bocceballics and Boccesaurus Rex wasn’t the first time the two teams had squared off this season. Back on August 13, Bocceballics rolled to a dominant 15–7 win, only to see Boccesaurus Rex return the favor a couple of weeks later with a 15–12 victory on September 3. With each team holding a win in the series, the final became the ultimate tiebreaker.
The championship lived up to the hype. Both sides traded points frame after frame, neither allowing the other to pull away. In the end, Bocceballics edged out Boccesaurus Rex 15–14 in a thrilling finish to reclaim bragging rights and capture the league title.
