It was a great night on the courts for our Wednesday Bocce Championship at Grant Park, with every matchup bringing a mix of chill competition, steady rolls, and plenty of good vibes from all teams involved.
The night opened with a competitive quarterfinal duel between four seed Delta Breeze and five seed Boochinis (11). With both teams easing into the match and trading steady throws, it stayed close from start to finish. Delta Breeze managed to edge ahead by maintaining tighter control near the pallino, ultimately squeezing out the 12–11 win and earning their spot in the semifinals.
The semifinals brought two strong matchups. On Court 1, top-seeded Boccesaurus Rex battled Delta Breeze. Delta carried momentum from their earlier win, but Rex’s consistency showed why they entered as the #1 seed. With clean placements and solid teamwork, Boccesaurus Rex secured the 14–10 victory to move into the finals. Meanwhile on Court 2, #2 seed Barack Obocce (15) faced #3 seed Bocceballics (12) in a well-balanced contest. Bocceballics kept the pressure on early, but Obocce found their groove and closed out a strong 15–12 win to punch their ticket to the championship match.
The finals came down to the dream matchup: Boccesaurus Rex vs. Barack Obocce. It was a relaxed but competitive atmosphere, with both teams throwing confidently and keeping the crowd engaged. Barack Obocce brought impressive accuracy from the start, consistently landing shots that forced Rex into tougher positions. While Boccesaurus Rex tried to mount a comeback, Obocce stayed in command and sealed the 15–4 victory, pulling an an emphatic finish to a great night on the courts.
