"Team Iceland" is our Wednesday night soccer champion for the second straight season. They'd finish with a 7-1 record, win their lone loss coming to their championship opponent in an ugly 6-1 shellacking. Other than that loss it was business as usual.
Part of the reason for their great regular season was due to their phenomenal start, winning their first five games to leap to first in the standings. That includes huge wins over "The Franklin" and "Para Los Ninos", both championship contenders. However, they dropped game six in a bit of a slip up before gathering themselves and defeating "FC Amigos" by a goal in the final regular season game.
In the championship game both "Team Iceland" and "The Franklins" battled fiercely, but it was our reigning champs who came out on top once again. It wasn't their most dominant performance, but their finals opponent brought everything they had and left it all out on the field. Unfortunately for them, their best still wasn't good enough to beat "Team Iceland". Congratulations to "Team Iceland" on a second straight small-sided championship!
