Monday night brought an electric end to the season as the top 5 beginner volleyball teams faced off in a one-night playoff showdown — and Leave to Serve walked away with the championship after a thrilling 2-1 victory over top-seeded Hitters Gonna Hit!
The night kicked off with the 4th and 5th seeds battling it out in the Quarterfinals. Spiked Punch, seeded 5th, went head-to-head with Volley Bros in a tight match, ultimately pulling off the win 2-1 and advancing to face the #1 seed. But Hitters Gonna Hit came out hot and stayed locked in, taking down Spiked Punch in a clean 2-0 sweep to secure their spot in the finals.
On the other side of the bracket, the semifinal between 2nd seed Leave to Serve and 3rd seed Street Meats turned into a nail-biter. After trading sets, Leave to Serve dug deep and pulled off the 2-1 win, punching their ticket to the championship game.
The final showdown featured the two top teams of the season, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. According to the ref, it was “some of the strongest teams this season facing off!” Hitters Gonna Hit, coming off a dominant semifinal, “played their boots off” in the final. But Leave to Serve showed grit and determination, fighting for every point after a hard-earned semifinal win of their own.
It was a match full of “amazing bumps, sets, and spikes from both sides,” and the energy on the court was intense from start to finish. Each team took a set, forcing a decisive third. But in the end, it was Leave to Serve who persisted — closing it out 2-1 and walking away as your Monday night beginner volleyball champs!
